There's a moment everyone knows. Phone in hand, thumb hovering, about to call someone you've been avoiding. That's the feeling behind the Calling God Oversized Tee, except the call isn't to a person. It's to God.
We built the design around a retro Y2K flip-phone graphic on purpose. Prayer isn't always a quiet, polished thing. Sometimes it's urgent. Sometimes it's the spiritual version of finally hitting "call" after staring at the screen for ten minutes, working up the nerve to actually talk to God about what's really going on.
That's the whole idea of Scum Clothing: we are more than just scum. When the world writes people off, God doesn't. Calling God is a reminder that reaching out, however messy, however overdue, is always met.
Why Y2K + Faith?
Christian streetwear has a habit of playing it safe: soft fonts, muted crosses, verse-of-the-day energy. We wanted something that felt more like how faith actually shows up for a lot of us, mixed in with the culture we already grew up in. Y2K nostalgia, oversized fits, and bold graphics, worn by people who also happen to carry their faith with them, out loud, not tucked away.
If you're into Christian streetwear that doesn't look like it came from the back of a church gift shop, this is the lane we're building.
The Fit and the Fabric
The Calling God tee is:
- 200g heavyweight cotton, built to actually hold its shape, not a flimsy fast-fashion tee
- Oversized, drop-shoulder cut. It runs a little large, so order true to size for a real oversized look, or size down one for something slightly more fitted
- GOTS and OCS certified, because ethical production matters as much as the message on the shirt
Wear It as a Conversation Starter
We didn't design this to blend in. If someone asks about the phone graphic, that's kind of the point. It's an easy opening to talk about what "calling God" actually means to you.
Got Questions About the Calling God Tee?
What does "Calling God" mean on the shirt?
"Calling God" refers to prayer as an active, urgent act, represented by a retro Y2K flip-phone graphic. The design turns the moment of finally reaching out to God, even after hesitating, into a wearable statement.
What material is the Calling God tee made from?
The Calling God tee is made from 200g heavyweight cotton in an oversized, drop-shoulder cut. It's certified under both GOTS (Global Organic Textile Standard) and OCS (Organic Content Standard).
Does the Calling God tee run true to size?
No, it runs larger than standard European sizing. Order one size down for a more fitted oversized look, or your normal size for a fully oversized fit.
Is Scum Clothing a Christian streetwear brand?
Yes. Scum Clothing is a Christian streetwear brand based in the Netherlands, combining faith-driven messaging with streetwear silhouettes like oversized tees and hoodies, rather than traditional church-merch styling.
How is the Calling God tee made and shipped?
Every Calling God tee is made to order rather than mass-produced ahead of time. Orders for European customers are typically fulfilled and shipped from within Europe, while U.S. orders ship from a U.S.-based facility.
